Située à 1600m d'altitude, en bordure du Parc National du Mercantour, l'auberge Val Castérino est le point de départ idéal des randonnées vers la Vallée des Merveilles et des visites des gravures rupestres. A 1h15 de Nice, l'accès facile et dégagé toute l'année par la vallée de la Roya vous fait découvrir des villages perchés, des paysages sans cesse changeants, du méditerranéen aux alpages de montagneNotre Auberge fait partie des bâtiments historiques du site de Val Castérino. Ancienne maison du Marquis et de la Marquise de Centurione, elle a hébergé à plusieurs reprises le dauphin d'Italie, et l'aristocratie italienne qui y venait pour chasser ou en villégiature d'été. Clarence Bicknell, y a séjourné longtemps, avant d'habiter sa propre maison, toujours visible en face de l'auberge.
Nous sommes la troisième génération à gérer ce que nous considérons comme notre "maison". Nous le faisons toujours avec passion et bonheur, et espérons vous faire partager notre amour pour la Vallée.
L'auberge, classée 2** , dispose de 10 chambres, toutes avec salle de bains et wc privés. Au restaurant, Dominique, la propriétaire, vous fera déguster une bonne cuisine familiale, des recettes typiques de montagne, du Piémont, et vous apprécierez ses spécialités à base de produits naturels de la région. (Truite en papillote à la crème d'orties, lasagnes de polenta au gorgonzola et épinards sauvages, daube de sanglier aux cèpes, rôti de veau à la crème de girolle)

Our house is part of the historic buildings of Casterino. Former house of the Marquis and Marchioness of Centurione, it hosted several times the heir to the throne of Italy, and the aristocracy who came here for hunting or for summer vacation. Clarence Bicknell lived here for a long time, before he had his own house, still visible on the other side of the creek.
We are the third generation to manage what we like to call our "home". We do it with passion and joy, and hope to make you share our love for the Valley.

At the restaurant, Dominique, the owner, serves typical mountain and Piemontese dishes, and you will enjoy her specials, based on local natural products (trouts in foil with creamed nettles , Gorgonzola and wild spinach olenta lasagne, wild boar stew with mushrooms, veal roast with chanterelle cream)

A 1h15 di Nizza, una strada facile, e pulita anche d'inverno lungo la Valle Roia, vi fa scoprire villagi arrocati, e paesagi multevoli, dal mediterraneo agli alpeggi.
La nostra casa fa parte degli edifici storici di Casterino. Ex casa del Marchese e la Marchesa Centurione, ha ospitato più volte l'erede del trono d'Italia, e l'aristocrazia italiana, che veniva qui per la caccia o per vacance estive. Clarence Bicknell è rimasto li a lungo, prima di vivere nella propria casa, dell'altra parte del fiume.

Al ristorante, Dominique, vi vara scoprire piatti tipici di montagna e del Piemonte, e pottrete apprezzare le specialità a base di prodotti locali selvatici (Trotta in cartoccio alla crema di ortiche, Spezatino di cinghiale ai funghi porcini, Lasage di polenta al gorgonzola e spinacci selvatici, arrosto di vitello alla crema di galleti)
